School Kids

In Tanzania public primary schools are for free, but nevertheless the kids have to pay for school uniforms, shoes, teaching materials and books. As most of the children do not even have enough to eat, going to school is usually impossible for them. The school fees for secondary schools are about 25-30 € a month and are to pay for the whole year in advance plus the boarding-school accommodation fee of 150 Euro per year.

Education is the key to a better future! That’s why we enable a basic school education to the ophan kids in Ntoma. These poor children already lost one or both parents by HIV. Our financial contribution for school fees, books and school lunch gives them the chance to get out of the vicious circle and start a better life. On the picture below you see Waltraud in the middle of many happy children to whom we distributed shoes, school uniforms, teaching materials and books thanks to your help.

The assumption of a part or a full seconday school sponsorship enables our children to archieve a degree and to learn a trade later on to secure the survival of themselves and possible relatives. The school terms, training courses and the school fees get organized by Sister Margaretha and Evangelina. The success of such a sponsorship is confiscated by our continuous contact to them. Each sponsor has of course also the opportunity to get in personal contact with his godchild.

How to best help school kids to help themselves

We are looking for school classes or individuals who would like to become a godparent for a school child ideally for the duration of its school education by donating the yearly school fee. It is also possible to create a group of donators who take over a single sponsorship together. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
